From July 22 to July 28, 2024, students from the International Student Bible Academy (ISBA) came together for an exciting summer camp. Held in Newport News, Virginia, the week was packed with various activities, such as volunteer service, Bible studies, and field trips.
Volunteering at Riverside Lifelong Health and Rehabilitation
The students carried out an ASEZ STAR volunteer service at Riverside Lifelong Health and Rehabilitation. They spent the day with elderly residents, sharing conversations, decorating planters, planting seeds, and playing games. The residents were so happy and thankful to have the volunteers visit them.
Learning Fire Safety at Virginia Beach Fire Station #5
The campers were also able to visit the Virginia Beach Fire Station #5, where students learned fire safety basics and life-saving skills. The hands-on experience taught them lessons on staying prepared during emergencies and gave them a new appreciation for firefighters and their work.
Movie Night and Busch Gardens Adventures
Of course, there was plenty of time for fun. Students enjoyed a cozy movie night, complete with popcorn, followed by an exciting day at Busch Gardens. The roller coasters and attractions had the students laughing for hours.
A Summer Camp Focused on God’s Teachings
In between the activities, students took time to carefully study the Bible. This precious time was their opportunity to focus on their spiritual growth, free from distractions, and practice sharing the words of God.
The 2024 ISBA summer camp brought students closer to their community, their peers, and their faith. The lessons and memories made during the week will stay with them as they continue to make a difference wherever they go.
