Jerusalem Mother

Heavenly Jerusalem, Our Mother

The book of Revelation is filled with parables and prophecies about the last days (Mt 13:34–35). Apostle John received these visions from God Himself and wrote them down (Rev 1:1–2). One prophecy that many people are unaware of is about Jerusalem coming down out of Heaven.

“I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.”

The physical Jerusalem city was already established on earth; John was describing another Jerusalem coming from heaven as a bride. Who is she?

“‘Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb.’ And … he showed me the Holy City, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God.”

When Apostle John saw the bride, he described her as the Holy City Jerusalem. Naturally, the bride of Christ, God our Father, is also someone special to us. Apostle Paul also testified about Jerusalem and who she is to us.

“But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our mother.”

Galatians 4:26

The Jerusalem that Apostle John saw coming down out of Heaven is described as our mother, according to the Bible. This means that not only do we have God the Father, but we also have Jerusalem, God our Mother. The Bible prophesies that both God the Father and Mother will appear in the last days to give eternal life to us, Their children, and lead us to the kingdom of heaven.

“The Spirit and the bride say, ‘Come!’ And let the one who hears say, ‘Come!’ Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life.”
