Elohim: God the Father and God the Mother

Elohim God

To receive the Holy Spirit as God’s people, we need to actively seek to know Him (Hos 6:3). While many recognize the God who parted the Red Sea, created Adam and Eve, and shaped the world in six days, not everyone is aware that Elohim God accomplished these remarkable actions.

The term “Elohim,” mentioned around 2,500 times in the Old Testament, indicates the existence of both God the Father and God the Mother. Understanding this concept allows us to claim true knowledge of God and gain the wisdom leading to eternal life (2Ti 3:15).

In the Hebrew dictionary, “El” or “Eloah” signifies God or god in the singular form, while “Elohim” represents God in the plural form. This distinction is crucial for a comprehensive understanding.

“‘And Elohim created the man in His image, in the image of Elohim He created him—male and female He created them.’”

This verse confirms the presence of God in both the female image (God the Mother) and the male image (God the Father).

Despite the common association of the word “God” with “God the Father,” the Bible explicitly testifies to the coexistence of God the Mother alongside God the Father. It is through this understanding that we can actively pursue a deeper connection with God and receive the Holy Spirit.
