On May 26, 50 ASEZ volunteers gathered for a Libertyville Road cleanup in Chesapeake, VA. The event started at Harbour North Park, with 10 students from the Yorktown Coast Guard Training Base joining the effort. Volunteers began at the intersection of Harbour North Park and Channel Road, splitting into two groups. One group headed right toward Great Bridge Boulevard, while the other turned left toward Bainbridge Boulevard. Both groups worked hard to remove all litter, ensuring that children could safely use the neighborhood playground.
The volunteers cleaned about 4,000 feet of road and collected 38 bags of trash, including a discarded tire. Participants found the experience both rewarding and impactful. Taylor McCloud shared, “Today, we’re out here with ASEZ cleaning up trash in the neighborhood. It was very rewarding to help out and give back to the community.” Christopher added, “We came together as one to clean up the community. It was nice to see everyone working in unison, making the streets look better—it was such a good time.”

This cleanup was part of ASEZ’s Reduce Crime Together Campaign, which aims to create safer communities by addressing environmental neglect.
